Ganeshotsav – Austin Marathi Mandal Program
Yesterday we went for annual celebration of Ganeshotsav. Austin Marathi Mandal organized this function. There was Ganesh Puja, some entertainment programs and authentic Maharashtrian dinner. We met lot of new families of our age group. It is very nice to attend Maharashtrian functions and make new friends. We moved to Austin recently from Corpus Christi. There is a big Indian community here in Austin as compared with Corpus Christi.

Sortable Tables Widget and AJAX Tables
While reading an online article on Ajax Toolkits, I learned that that Dojo has sortable table widget. I saw a video on how to use it and I was very excited about it. I immediately thought of using in one of the projects I am working on. First I tried on static html table and it worked fine. When I added the code to my project it stopped working. The table I was trying to use Dojo sortable table widget on was generated dynamically using AJAX. After some research I found out that Dojo sortable table widget currently doesn’t support dynamically generated tables. I would love to learn if there is any workaround on this.

Once you install this utility on your computer, you can easily type in Indian languages like Marathi, Gujarathi, Bengali etc. I tried typing in Marathi (my native language) and it works very well. whenever I saw Marathi blogs, I have always wondered about easiest way to write Marathi online, but now I know atleast one way to publish Marathi content.

Manasi and me really enjoyed it. We played two rounds and our scores were 72,69 (Manasi) and 99,147 (Manish). Now we decided to start TDS bowling team and we are going to play once every week.

National Bridge Caverns
Last weekend we visited National Bridge Caverns near New Braunfels. If you are looking for something to do on a weekend and if you live around the area of Austin or San Antonio, thats a great spot to visit. That was 75 minutes tour which travels through caverns and rock formations located 186 ft. below ground level. We really loved it. Here are our pictures.

Cool Photo Gallery – Gallery 2
I have been playing around with the open source web-based photo gallery software called Gallery. I think this is a great software for organizing your photos on your website. There are lot of different things you can do once login to the administrative interface. The feature I like the most is you can upload your photos using ftp and then enter the directory path, and it finds all your photos and puts it in an album of your choice. Thats pretty cool!
